Last world I was stranded on, just before Anchor - I call it Earth-beta, distinct from the Earth I call home - there were a few hundred other people in the same boat, forcibly taken from their home dimensions. Not unlike what happens here. Only there, the machine that was used to abduct us - the Porter - also interfered with our powers, or bestowed new powers on people who didn't have them prior.
