[Carlisle stares at his phone for a second, trying to parse out who is messaging him about his fence. un: Yamamoto? Oh right, that was that lad's name, wasn't it?]

What's wrong with the fence?

I broke a small piece on the unrepaired section. Thought I could take the day and fix that spot and some of the other spots. I know you're busy planting!

[There's a few minutes before he sends another text where he's probably out looking at his fence for himself and wondering if it really is that bad. His assessment is yes.]

[He's not busy enough to supervise, though. He makes sure he's out with the chickens when that hour rolls around. Ignore those glowing eyes watching you from a distance the entire time, Yamamoto.]

[He gives a small wave when he sees Carlisle, other than he seems intent on some book he has found and work on the fence. Not once will he be seen goofing off while he works. And later there will be this: picture sent with the following text.]

[Having gotten distracted by the chickens, it takes Carlisle a minute to get to the text and the accompanying picture.

Oh, oh that's... quite lovely, actually. Better than he expected. Certainly an improvement from his meager efforts. And as he glances to the cattle, he can see they're obeying the borders set by this fence just as they were before, each and everyone one of them entirely too lazy to test the fortitude of their new boundary.

Perhaps he should have been nicer to this lad. He really did do a nice job.]

I do. I appreciate the craftsmanship you put into it, and I believe it will do its job suitably.

[That's frankly high praise coming from a guy who is generally full of complaints.]
